Second Chance Housing

At twelve housing units and growing, consisting of a mix of trailer and mobile homes, CCJ has now been able to place several formerly homeless individuals and families into safe and affordable housing.

We are fortunate to have had some of our units donated by generous members of the community, and several volunteers who donated their time to renovate the homes before move-in. Thank you for making a difference!

Home Repair

Services Provided
  • Home Health-Related Repairs
  • Home Safety Repairs
  • Weatherization
  • Energy Efficiency
How Does Home Repair Work?

Applications for repairs are accepted from social service agencies, faith-based organizations and directly from qualifying home owners.  After passing the initial interview and screening, applications are prioritized by need and by available resources.  The repair work is then performed by volunteers, to the extent possible, or by professionals, as necessary.

Who Pays the Expenses?

Most of the labor is done by volunteers. Costs of materials and contracted services are paid with funds contributed by individuals, religious organizations and grants. Businesses also contribute through discounts and gifts-in-kind.
